Why You’ll Love Gruyère Date Crostini

These Gruyère Date Crostini are the most perfect appetizer, I love making these during the holidays for my family… They go nuts for them. The dates give it the are caramelly and nutty flavor. The bread give it that crunchy element and it is EPIC! Honestly, these are super easy to make and extremely delicious.

Substitutions

I like to top mine with chives, but you can substitute for your favorite herbs. You could sub the gruyère for your favorite cheese, like comte. I like to use baguette for the crostinis, but you can also do your bread of choice instead.

Gruyère Date Crostini… Baked dates are one of my favorite things ever, they become so caramelly? and in contrast with the crunchy bread and nutty gruyere…Heaven.

Ingredients 

  • 9 large dates, I used rhutab
  • 9 thick chunks gruyère
  • 9 slices of baguette
  • Olive oil to taste
  • Chives to taste

Directions 

  • Pit the dates
  • Stuff the dates with a chunk of gruyère
  • Drizzle plenty of olive oil on the bread
  • Top with date and bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes
  • Add chives
