Fried Brie & Goat Cheese Balls

Fried Brie & Goat Cheese Balls for ep.7 of my restaurant series ♥️. We all know how delicious goat cheese balls are but the brie makes it even better! Trust.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz brie, rind removed
  • 6 oz goat cheese
  • Grapeseed oil to fry
  • 1 1/4 cup panko, pulverized
  • Pinch of seasoned salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp salsa macha
  • Black pepper
  • Chives

Directions

  • Mix the brie and the goat cheese together, it doesn’t have to be homogenous
  • Rub a bit of olive oil on your hands to make the balls neater, or gloves which I ran out of
  • Form the balls. Yields 12-14
  • Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes
  • Season the panko with the seasoned salt
  • Pass through the egg wash, then the seasoned panko, the egg wash again and seasoned panko. Very important to double dip!
  • Set them over parchment paper and cover in plastic and let them chill 10-12 hrs in the fridge, a minimum of 4 hrs. Alternatively let them chill in the freezer 30-40 min. Fridge is better though!
  • Preheat your oil to 375F. Fry each ball for about 20-30 sec, until fully golden
  • Mix the honey and salsa macha. Serve at the bottom of a plate
  • Add the balls on top of the honey so they won’t get soggy
  • Top with black pepper and chives
