Why You’ll Love Baked Goat Cheese

The most perfect appetizer! I love goat cheese with all my heart and this baked one is truly amazing. It’s creamy and delicious. Don’t even get me started on the cheese crust that forms on the bottom 🤤 The honey and the crushed red peppers add a sweet and spicy touch and creates a lovely balance of flavors.

How To Prepare Baked Goat Cheese

🧀 First, slice the goat cheese into rounds.

🥘 Secondly, preheat a cast iron pan on high for 2-3 minutes.

🔥 Arrange the cheese onto the cast iron. Then, get it on the stove on high for 1 minute.

🍯 Then, drizzle honey and add crushed red peppers.

🌿 Lastly, bake at 400F for 17-20 minutes or until golden. Top it with chives.

Substitutions and Variations

  1. You can use brie or feta instead of goat cheese.
  2. If you want to add more of a spicy touch, you can use hot honey instead of regular.
  3. On the other hand, if you don’t want a spicy touch, you can leave the crushed red peppers out.
  4. You can use your favorite herbs or which ever ones you have on hand instead of chives.

Chef Nadia’s Tip

Preheating the cast iron for at least 2-3 minutes is key for getting the golden crust. I used a mini 5 inch pan. Don’t worry if the crust looks dark, it won’t taste burnt.
