Why You’ll Love Mushroom Baked Brie

You know I love brie, and this one has to be one of the best ones I have made this far! The truffled caramelized onions give it the best taste… I used Truffle Black Salt by Truff! It’s creamy, earthy and perfect! It is very easy to make, and perfect for hosting and serving as an appetizer!

How To Prepare Mushroom Baked Brie

🧅 First, slice your onion in half, and then in half again. Then, cut into thin slices.

🔥 Secondly, preheat a pan for 2 minutes on medium. Then, drizzle a bit of olive oil and add in the onions.

🍄 Sauté on medium for 5 minutes and add in the mushrooms. Then, lower heat to medium low and let them caramelize for 20-25 minutes, mixing periodically.

🧈 Add in the butter and truffle salt to taste. Mix it in. Let them fully caramelize, should be another 25-30 minutes. Then, deglaze with the balsamic and cook together for 2-3 minutes.

🔪 Using a knife, cut a circle on top of the brie. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes.

🥜 Toast the almonds in a pan until golden brown.

💥 Remove the top that you cut off, add the onions and mushrooms and return to the oven for another 20 minutes. Then, cover with foil for 10 minutes and bake uncovered for the remaining 10 minutes.

🍯 Lastly, drizzle honey, add chives and almonds.

Substitutions and Variations

  1. You can use any herbs of your choice instead of chives, or leave it without.
  2. I used enoki and shiitake mushrooms, but you can use your mushrooms of choice.

Chef Nadia’s Tip

Trust the process of caramelizing the onion and mushrooms. Yes, it takes time BUT it’s 100% worth it.
