This Whipped Brie Apple Caramel appetizer is truly the PERFECT combination of savory, sweet and creamy. I served it for the first time at this year’s Thanksgiving and I will be serving this at EVERY holiday event, not kidding. This apple whipped brie dip is going to be your new obsession. The hardest part is just waiting for your caramel to be done because you’re just going to want to eat it!

How To Prepare Whipped Brie Apple Caramel

🥄 Add the apple cider to a saucepan with both sugars. Mix well. Cook on medium-high heat, mixing every few minutes until reduced by half. It should loosely coat the back of a spoon. This will take 12-14 minutes. Add the butter and cook for 1 more minute.

🧂 Turn heat off and mix in kosher salt and cream. If it turns out too hard thin it out with more cream or a touch of apple cider.

🧀 Whip the brie and cream cheese in a food processor until smooth.

🍽️ Spread the Whipped Brie on a plate and add the caramel, flaky salt, nuts.

🍎 I think the apple slices are the BEST way to eat this but crackers and bread work too. If you choose to eat it with apples make sure to soak the apples in cold water with salt (1 tsp per cup) for 10 minutes to prevent browning.

Common Questions

Can this Whipped Brie Apple Caramel be made ahead of time?

You can make the caramel ahead no problem. The whipped brie and cream cheese should only be made 1-3 hours ahead.

Do you have any tips for making the caramel?

Sure! Caramel is sensitive to ratios, so make sure you follow the recipe closely. Make sure your pan is not too hot so it doesn’t burn. And just be patient. It does take awhile for the sugar to dissolve and the golden amber color to appear, so don’t rush it.
