This Goat Cheese Appetizer is the perfect little bite for the holidays and I’m going to tell you why. All of the elements can be made ahead of time, they are gorgeous, very easy to do and the most important part DELICIOUS. I served them at an event at Crate and Barrel last weekend and they were the star ⭐️

How To Prepare Goat Cheese Appetizer

🍯 Blend your cranberry sauce or cranberry relish so it isn’t chunky. Add it to pan and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the liquid evaporates. Turn off the heat and add honey.

🌿 Fry the sage until translucent on low heat.

🧀 Whip the cream cheese and goat in a food processor.

🍽️ Pipe cheese onto a cracker and make a little well on top with your spoon, add the cranberry honey, top with flaky salt, pecans and sage leaves.

♥️ And that is it, subscribe for more!

Substitutions for Goat Cheese Appetizer

  • If goat cheese isn’t your jam, you can use brie or feta instead.
  • Any cracker works, I just love Ritz.
  • If you’re in a hurry you can always swap the cranberry sauce out for a jam.

Variations for Goat Cheese Appetizer

  1. Meaty Variation: Crisp up some prosciutto and add a little bit for a meaty twist to this goat cheese appetizer.
  2. Spicy Variation: Add some crushed red pepper flakes to the cranberry sauce for a little kick.
  3. Phyllo Variation: Bake some little phyllo squares and use that instead of the Ritz Crackers for a different angle on this dish.

🔥Chef Nadia’s Tip🔥

Use a tall glass to hold your piping bag and fold the top of the bag around the cup. That way you can scoop the cheese mixture into it much easier and use both hands.

Recipes That Pair

A Ritz cracker topped with a goat cheese and cream cheese blend. A spoonful of cranberry sauce placed on top of that finished off with a crispy fried sage leaf.

Common Questions

What cranberry relish do you use?

For this Goat Cheese Appetizer, I make my own but if you don’t have the time this one by Harry and David Country is good.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can make all the different elements beforehand and store in the fridge until ready to use. Then right before your company gets there, pop it all together.
