Why You’ll Love Salmon Wonton Cups
You will love them because, they truly are that good but also quite literally the perfect appetizer. When I tell you that you’ll want to drink the spicy avocado mayo, I mean it lol. It adds that tangy and creamy touch and it is EPIC! The wonton cups add that crunchy element and take this recipe to next level. These are easy to make, and you can make big batch of the spicy avocado mayo, store it on the fridge and put it on anything you want, and trust me, you’ll want to.
How To Prepare Salmon Wonton Cups
🥑 First, spray avocado oil onto a muffin pan, add the wonton wrappers in the center as shown in the video. Add more avocado oil spray. Then, bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
🍋 Secondly, add the mayo, avocado, chopped Serrano and lemon to a food processor. Then, process until smooth and season to taste.
🍣 Cube the salmon and add to a bowl.
🌟 Then, add in the scallions, Tamari, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar and sesame seeds.
🌶 Lastly, add the avocado mayo to the cups, top with salmon, a tiny slice of Serrano and enjoy!
Substitutions and Variations
- You can use your favorite seafood, such as tuna, or crab (real or imitation).
- If you aren’t a huge fan of spicy, you can take the Serrano out of the avocado mayo, or adjust the amount to your desired level of heat.
- You can use any pepper of your choices such as jalapeño instead of Serrano. You can even do green bell pepper if you don’t like the heat.
Chef Nadia’s Tip
Make an “X” in the middle of the wonton wrapper, so they don’t puff up.
