Why You’ll Love Crunchy Feta
This pistachio crusted feta is gorgeous, and delicious. This is the perfect appetizer. It is so easy to make and it will be a crowd pleaser. The pistachio give it that crunchy element and it creates a lovely balance of textures with the creaminess of the feta.
How To Prepare Crunchy Feta
🌿 First, mix the pistachio, panko and dash of oregano.
🧀 Secondly, pat dry the feta pretty well but carefully.
🥚 Pass the feta through the egg wash and completely coat in the pistachio mixture. Then, let sit in the fridge 15 minutes.
🔥 Preheat a pan with the olive oil until it hits 325F or the bottom of your wooden spoon lightly bubbles.
🌟 Fry the feta on both sides until golden, about 1.5-2 minutes per side.
🍯 Then, drizzle honey on top, add crushed red peppers and mint.
🍞 Lastly, enjoy with bread!
Substitutions and Variations
- You can use queso fresco or goat cheese instead of feta. It won’t have the same flavor profiles, but it works.
- The mint can be easily swapped for your favorite herbs or which ever ones you have on hand.
- You can also leave the crushed red peppers out, if you don’t want that spicy touch.
- You can use walnuts or any other nuts of your choice instead of pistachio.
Chef Nadia’s Tip
Make sure you pat dry the feta well, but very carefully so it doesn’t break.
