Substitutions and Variations
- Substitutions
- In a pinch, you can always use store bought lime juice, fresh is always better but this will work too.
- Honey or maple syrup will work in place of the agave.
- Variations
- Even Spicier Variation: If you are wanting even more kick, don’t seed the jalapeños before adding to the food processor.
- Orange Liqueur Variation: For extra citrus, you can add 1 oz of Triple Sec, Grand Marnier or Cointreau to this recipe.
🔥Chef Nadia’s Tip🔥
- If you have sensitive skin at all, wearing gloves will help make sure your skin doesn’t burn from touching the spicy jalapeños for this margarita.
The Perfect Pairing
For sides I love to pair it with Fall Off the Bones Ribs and a good Mac and Cheese or Potato Salad. A Fresh Salad is always nice or some Buffalo Corn Ribs.

I would make it the same day. You can store then mixed margarita in the fridge (without ice). Make sure you give it another good stir before serving. The Jalapeño Juice can be made 2-3 day ahead and then stored in a sealed jar in the fridge. Just be aware that the jalapeño heat will continue to develop!
