About the Taste

This dip is bursting with holiday flavors. The base is a buttery whipped brie is perfectly light and airy. But the star of the show is the spicy berry jam. It hits you with that deep, jammy sweetness first, followed by a smoky, nutty heat from the salsa macha. The rosemary and lemon zest add an herbal brightness that keeps the flavor profile feeling fresh and balanced.

Every bite gives you a mix of creamy cheese, sticky-sweet heat, and a toasted crunch from the pistachios. The chives and flaky salt provide a sharp, savory finish that cuts right through the richness. It is bold, sophisticated, and completely addictive when spread over a warm, crispy baguette.

Nadia’s Tips

  • Room Temperature: Let the cheeses come to room temperature before blending. Blending while cold breaks the emulsion and creates an oily texture instead of a lush, velvety cloud.
  • Piping Bag Tips:
    • Stand your bags in a tall glass and fold the edges over the rim to make filling them with the whipped brie and jam completely seamless
    • Take the filled bags out of the fridge 30 minutes before you want to serve. This gives the cheese enough time to soften into a perfectly spreadable consistency.
    • Hold your piping bags at a 45 degree angle for those clean, professional lines that make the plate look like a work of art.

Spiced Berry Jam and Whipped Brie Dip FAQ

Can I make whipped brie dip ahead of time?

Yes! That’s part of what makes this such an easy appetizer recipe! You can prepare the whipped brie and spicy berry jam up to two days in advance. Keep both refrigerated in separate piping bags or airtight containers. About 30 minutes before serving, pipe them on the plate, sprinkle the toppings, and let the whipped brie and jam come to room temperature so you have that creamy, spreadable texture.

What kind of jam works best?

Any berry jam works great – strawberry, blackberry, or even cherry. If you want a little extra tang, try cranberry or fig jam for a festive twist. I used Bonne Maman – Four Fruits Preserves, and it happened to come in a 13 oz, but if you use a different brand that is a little bit of a different size, that’s okay.

What’s the best way to serve this whipped brie and spicy berry jam dip?

You can get creative with it and change up the design on the serving plate, swirl it in a bowl together (don’t over-mix) or whatever you want. Use warm baguette slices or crackers to scoop it in your mouth!

  • 1 tbsp salsa macha, or chipotle adobo
  • ½ lemon, zest only
  • 2 tsp fresh rosemary
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • pistachios, toasted and chopped
  • chives, chopped, to taste
  • flaky salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Whip the cheese: In a food processor, blend the brie and cream cheese until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to firm slightly.
10 oz brie, 2 oz cream cheese
  • Make the Spicy Berry Jam: In a small saucepan, combine the jam, salsa macha, lemon zest, rosemary, and honey. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–6 minutes until slightly thickened. Return the jam to its jar and cool it quickly by placing the jar in a bowl of ice water, or refrigerate until fully chilled. When cooled, add it to a piping bag.
13 oz berry jam, 1 tbsp salsa macha, ½ lemon, 2 tsp fresh rosemary, 1 tbsp honey
  • Pipe and Plate: Pipe the brie onto your serving plate in smooth, even horizontal strips, leaving a bit of space between each. Hold the bag at a 45° angle for the cleanest lines. Pipe the jam in between each brie strip.
  • Finish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped pistachios, chives, and flaky salt over the top. Serve immediately with warm bread or toasted baguette slices for dipping and spreading. Enjoy!
