This is part of my Just A Bite series, episode 20 – and I really fell in love with this one. The creamy whipped brie and spicy berry combo is delicious. She’s absolutely gorgeous in all her festive glory, and this brie and jam appetizer is surprisingly easy to make. Check out the Prep Your Ingredients section for make-ahead tips.

Why You’ll Fall For This Whipped Brie Jam Dip

Because this brie appetizer is the perfect balance of whipped, creamy brie paired with a jam that’s herbal, fruity, and carries a little heat. That’s why you’ll fall for it. And when you spread it over a warm piece of bread? It’s the perfect vessel for getting all that goodness exactly where it belongs.

Prep Your Ingredients: Whipped Brie Dip

The Whipped Brie Dip

Brie |  Cream Cheese | Food Processor

Start by removing the rind from your brie – the easiest way is to chill it for about 15 minutes, then use a small, sharp knife to shave off just the thin white layer, leaving as much creamy cheese as possible.
Tip: Blending while the brie is still slightly cold gives you the fluffiest texture.

The Spicy Berry Jam

Berry Jam | Salsa Macha | Lemon Zest | Rosemary | Honey | Cooling Tips

Spicy Berry Jam: Stir everything together (you can swap the salsa macha for chipotle adobo if that’s what you have) and bring to a gentle simmer for 5–6 minutes, just until it thickens slightly.

Cooling: Place the jar in a bowl of ice water to help it set faster, or chill it in the fridge until thickened -cooling it quickly locks in the color and keeps the flavors bright.

Pipe and Plate

Piping Bags | Make-Ahead | Plating

Piping Bag: The easiest way to fill your piping bags is to set them inside a tall glass and fold the edges over the rim. Then, just spoon in your mixtures – doing this keeps your hands clean and your counter mess-free.
Tip: Hold your piping bags at a 45° angle for the cleanest lines.

Make-Ahead: You can fill the bags and refrigerate them (uncut) up to 2 days in advance. This right here is one of the reasons this is such a great appetizer for both dinner parties and holidays. When you’re ready to serve it, snip off the tips, pipe it onto your serving platter, and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. This is the perfect amount of time to let your whipped brie dip become luxuriously spreadable.

Plating: Pipe the whipped brie onto your platter in smooth ribbons, leaving space between each line. Then pipe the spicy berry jam in between – and take a moment to admire your festive brie and jam appetizer before the next step.

The Toppings

Pistachios | Chives | Flaky Salt | Warm Bread

Toast the pistachios in a dry pan over medium heat for 2–3 minutes, just until fragrant and golden. Chop them, then sprinkle over the plated brie with chives and a pinch of flaky salt. Serve with warm bread or toasted baguette slices — perfect for scooping up every smooth, jammy, and crunchy bite.

Whipped Brie and Spicy Berry Jam: Q and A

Can I make whipped brie dip ahead of time?

Yes! That’s part of what makes this such an easy appetizer recipe! You can prepare the whipped brie and spicy berry jam up to two days in advance. Keep both refrigerated in separate piping bags or airtight containers. About 30 minutes before serving, pipe them on the plate, sprinkle the toppings, and let the whipped brie and jam come to room temperature so you have that creamy, spreadable texture.

What kind of jam works best?

Any berry jam works great – strawberry, blackberry, or even cherry. If you want a little extra tang, try cranberry or fig jam for a festive twist. I used Bonne Maman – Four Fruits Preserves, and it happened to come in a 13 oz, but if you use a different brand that is a little bit of a different size, that’s okay.

What’s the best way to serve this whipped brie and spicy berry jam dip?

You can get creative with it and change up the design on the serving plate, swirl it in a bowl together (don’t over-mix) or whatever you want. Use warm baguette slices or crackers to scoop it in your mouth!
