Pan con Tomate & Prosciutto… Truly one of my favorite appetizers EVER. One of my favorite food memories was going to Spain with my dad… Just us two and all we did was eat. From that trip on, I’ve been obsessed with the amazing pan con tomate. Ideally, you would use jamon iberico (best brand is Cinco Jotas), but it’s hard to get where I live. If you enjoyed this, check out my Tomato Butter & Burrata Crostini!

Why You’ll Love Pan con Tomate & Prosciutto

It’s the perfect and the most delicious and easy appetizer. Trust me, rubbing the garlic is a MUST. It adds the garlicky touch without being too overpowering. Every time I teach a charcuterie class, I always teach them how to make this because it really steps up your appetizer game.

How To Prepare Pan con Tomate & Prosciutto

🧄 First, rub garlic on the bread. Then, rub the tomato pretty vigorously.

🧀 Lastly, add the Manchego and prosciutto. Then, drizzle with olive oil.

Substitutions and Variations

  1. You can use your favorite cheese instead of manchego.
  2. You can use your favorite cold meats, such as calabrese, or salami instead of prosciutto. If you can get your hands on Jamon Iberico, GET IT! It’s amazing.

Chef Nadia’s Tip

Make sure you do rub the garlic on the bread, trust me it makes a HUGE difference.
