Why You’ll Love Whipped Goat Cheese & Tomatoes

Whipped Goat Cheese & Tomatoes… This recipe isn’t like a regular dip, it’s a cool dip (had to do a mean girls reference lol). It really is so good, along with the melty tomatoes and the garlic chips, it really is to dieee for. The garlic chips add that crispy element and it makes it so much better. Topping it with crushed red peppers and honey creates a perfect balance between spicy and sweet and the combo is amazing.

Substitutions

If you aren’t a fan of goat cheese, you can use feta or heck… full on cream cheese. You can also substitute the basil for your favorite herbs, and the shallots for onion. I like to add crushed red peppers to add a little bit of spice but you can leave it out.

Whipped Goat Cheese & Tomatoes Dip… In case you need a really good recipe or a last minute one for game day or if you are hosting and you have no idea what to make, this one is perfect! It's so creamy, easy to make, and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 4-6 garlic cloves
  • 2 shallots, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or enough to cover about 1 inch of your pan
  • Crushed red peppers
  • Basil to taste
  • Honey for drizzling
  • Lemon zest
  • Flaky salt

Directions

  • Slice the garlic super thin. Preheat your pan with the olive oil for 1 min on medium, add garlic slices and lower heat to medium low. Fry until they become a pale golden color, more than this and they can burn and be bitter
  • Poke a hole in your tomatoes so they don’t burn your mouth when you eat them
  • Remove garlic from oil and let sit in a paper towel. In that same oil add shallots and tomatoes, cook on low until all melty. About 10 minutes
  • Whip your goat and cream cheese together with a pinch of salt
  • Spread dip on a plate, add the tomatoes/shallots, garlic chips, honey, basil, lemon zest, flaky salt and crushed red peppers
