This golden caramelized onion gravy is rich, flavorful and so versatile. It goes perfectly on anything from an everyday meal to mashed potatoes to a thanksgiving turkey, making it that much more special!

1garlic clove
Instructions
Slice your onion and shallots into thin strips.
Preheat a pan on low heat. Add oil. Add the onions and shallots. Let them caramelize for a good 45-50 minutes, mixing every couple minutes. Add red wine vinegar and soy sauce. Grate the garlic and cook together another 2 minutes. Add rosemary and sage.
In another pan add the whipped brown butter and let it melt (see the How To section for a link for this recipe). Add the flour and cook together for 2-3 minutes.
Mix in your hot chicken stock a bit at a time. Let it thicken and adjust seasonings to taste.
