How To Prepare Yuzu Prickly Pear GinRita

🧂 First, combine the salt, sugar and sumac in a plate.

❄️ Secondly, add the rest of the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Then, shake for a minimum of 60 seconds.

🍯 Then, brush a little agave syrup or honey on the side of your glass and pass it through the sumac sugar.

🍊 Lastly, serve with a single rock and a slice of blood orange.

Substitutions and Variations

  1. You can use any alcohol of your choice, such as mezcal or tequila instead of gin.
  2. I love doing a sumac sugar rim but you can do your favorite rim instead.
  3. I used Empress Elderflower rose gin, but you can use any gin of your choice.
  4. You can use any honey of your choice instead of agave syrup.

Chef Nadia’s Tip

Make sure you shake for at least 60 seconds so you get icicles in there!

Ingredients 

  • 3/4 oz Prickly pear syrup
  • 3/4 oz Yuzu
  • 1/2 Blood orange
  • 3/4 oz Triple sec , or orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz Elderflower rose gin, Empress
  • Tiny squeeze lemon
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Sumac
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
